I am just starting research for a friend who learned, when she was in her 50s, that her mother, now deceased, was adopted. When she first learned this, her father told her that her mother was adopted when she was two months old and that her biological mother's name was Heath.
I may never be able to find anything that will help my friend find her biological family, but I figured I'd start here on the genforum boards.
She was born on 5 July 1915, and was adopted at age two months by William and Ellen (Delano) Millard. At that time, the Millards lived in Auburndale, MA. Her name was Ava May Millard. I have no way of knowing if her birth mother gave her the name Ava May, or if the Millards chose that name for her when they adopted her.
If anyone has any information (even rumors might help) about this Delano/Millard family and the adopted child, I would appreciate hearing from you.
My friend feels like "half of me is missing" and I want very much to be able to help her.
