My great grandfather Francis Henry Delano b. Feb 25, 1844, Oswego, NY. Enlisted at age eighteen on August 11, 1862, to serve three years. Discharged June 23, 1865, at Petersburg, Virginia. Re-enlisted January 7, 1866 and discharged January 7, 1869 at Ft. Fetterman, Wyoming.

Other notes indicate he was Discharged from Civil War in 1871 or 1872 in Wyoming. Came to Kansas and staked a claim in Cloud Co. Kansas. The Marriage certificate bearing the stamp of the U. S. Pension Office July 16, 1925, is as follows: "State of Kansas County of Mitchell Dec 3d 1874. This is to certify that Francis H. Delano and Catharine Taylor were duly joined in mariage according to the laws and ceremonies of the state of Kansas. Signed Wm. N. Bower, J. P. of Lulu TWP.

Possible parents were Charles Henry Delano and first wife Catherine Murphy (Ireland). After first discharge in 1869 he visited father and stepmother in Watertown and favorite uncle Silas in Theresa, per family letter.

Any confirmation of birth parents would sure be appreciated-Thanks Fred DeLano
