This was a common occurrence, i.e. changing of a surname. If you have specific information, or questions, please post them and let us know how we can be of help. My family went from Spain to Amsterdam to London, although one line also went to Surinam. Mexico and Puerto Rico were also popular destinations. I do not have that much for the de Lara family, but I do have some resources at hand that I can refer to for information. My DNA tells me I descend from Haplogroup K, does yours identify your specific group?
