The spelling may well be a variation of Dahlbo/Dalbo/Dalbow/Dolbow, a family originating in New Jersey in the 17th century. This family was quite concentrated in the NJ/DE/PA area for the better part of two centuries before members began to strike out into the rest of the country in the early 1800's. Branches of the family have settled on one spelling or another. I, myself, have occasionally seen a 'Delbo' variant on documents having to do with this family. They seem to have originated in Sweden, reputedly Dahlsland. You might want to look at the 'Dolbow' forum.
