David DeLeeuw, 53, died in Bronson Hospital this morning after a lingering illness. He was taken seriously ill one week ago.
Born in Kalamazoo, he was a member for 18 years in the DeLeeuw Brothers seed and produce firm. Mr. DeLeeuw was a member of Bethany Reformed Church, the Knights Templar commandery and chapter, and the United Commercial Trevelers.
Surviving in addition to his widow, Mamie, are a son, Robert and a daughter, Mrs. Gordon Burdick (Marian), both of Kalamazoo; his mother, Mrs. Garrett Noordam, Kalamazoo; three brothers, Neil, Lawrence, and Harold all of this city; six sisters, Mrs. George Dudley, Mrs. John Pikkart, Mrs. N. Sanders, Mrs. Robert Hanks, Mrs. C. Turpstra, all of Kalamazoo and Mrs. Walter Crawford, Toronto, Can.
He is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo, Michigan, KK-13.
Residence in 1938 - 623 Kook Avenue. Kook Avenue was named for his grandfather, David Kook.
