Looking for the parents and grandparents of Sylvester Felix DeLeon (father of Patricia DeLeon Wheeler
d.abt 6-21-2009)

PATRICIA DELEON WHEELER
GOODRICH - Patricia DeLeon Wheeler was born on the DeLeon ranch in Victoria to Sylvester Felix DeLeon and Aurelia Chapa DeLeon.
She was heir of the famous aristocratic Spanish settler Empresario Don Martin DeLeon that was granted the DeLeon Colony by the king of Spain in the early 1800's.
The DeLeon family founded Victoria and introduced to Texas many of the ranching, farming, and banking techniques still in use today, as well as the first Spanish Catholic missions in south Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Gloria.
Patricia leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Darryl Wheeler of Livingston; three children and their families, James and Robin Carpenter, Gay and Larry Ruggiano, and Mark Carpenter, all residing in Austin; and grandchildren: James, Elizabeth, Stephen, Allison and Ashley Carpenter; Justin, Nicole, and Brian Ruggiano, and Natalie Carpenter, as well as, her "bonus" children by marriage William Wheeler, Thomas Wheeler, Suzanne Gevelinger, Joanne May, and Kevin Wheeler and their families, most of which reside in Wisconsin. In all, she enjoyed 22 grandchildren and one great-grandson and considered them each a blessing.
Patricia was a fun loving devoted mother and wife who never met a stranger and always had a smile and room at her table for anyone who just "happened" to be there at supper time. She worked as a ticket agent for Texas International then Continental Airlines for 20 years where she built many dear friendships. She never had an unkind word to say of anyone and devoted much time to the kitchen brigade at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Coppell and Catholic Charities Thrift Shop, helping others in need. She showed us all how to love unconditionally and we take comfort in knowing that she is rejoicing with her Savior, Jesus Christ, and all the saints in heaven. Rest in peace with our love forever in your heart.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today, June 23, at Pace Funeral Home, 411 East Abbey Street, in Livingston. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 2590 Hwy 190 West, in Livingston, with a celebration of life to follow at Magnolia Lake RV Park Clubhouse, 791 FM 2665, in Goodrich.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer`s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 (www.alz.org).
