According to what I have found, William Pleasant Dellis (1844-1921)was the son of John Milton Dellis Jr. Lucinda A. ??? Dellis was apparently the second wife of J. M. D. Jr.; Lucinda was born c. 1835; she apparently died before 1870 by which time J. M. D. Jr. was apparently married to Mary "Mollie" A. Burke (1841-1892).
In the 1860 Census John M. (37 from TN) and L. A. (25 from AL) Dellis are in Anderson Co. TX. In the household with them are: Wm. P. (15 from MS), O. B. (13 from MS), P. D. (11, from MS), J. A. (9, from TX), F. G. (6, from TX), and A.A. (5, from TX). Two houses away is an Almira Dellis family, but I do not know what their relationship is.
In the 1870 Census John M. Dellis (48, from TN) is still in Anderson Co. TX. In the household is Mary (29, from GA), James A. (18, from TX), Lourance ? (16, from TX), and Arminda (14, from TX).
In the 1880 Census John M. Dellis (58, from TN, as were both his parents)is in Kaufman Co. TX, along with Mollie (39, from GA; her parents were both from TN). Also in the household were Eda (9), Jewell (6), Margaret (5), Mollie (3), and Joseph Burke (24, bro-in-law, from AR, whose parents were from TN & AL).
John Milton Dellis Jr. died 23 Jan 1892, and is buried in the Kemp Cemetery, Kaufman Co. TX. William Pleasant Dellis is buried in the Mabank Cemetery in Kaufman Co. TX.
My great grandmother was Arminda A. Dellis Black, sister of your William Pleasant Dellis. She is buried in the Kemp Cemetery, Kaufman Co. TX.
I have a bit of information about John Milton Dellis Sr. too; if interested email me privately. Maybe we can exchange further information; there is a lot about the Dellis family I do not yet know.
