Darla, Clemance Delo is buried in Springfield, Missouri. I was at the family site (of about 8 headstones) in 2001. I believe that the date on CD's stone was 1907, and I think it was a single burial. The cemetary is on S. Glenstone @ Cherry. I think the name is National Cemetary, although the Delo's are buried in the non-military section.
As a small boy in the 1950's, I recall some Martin's as being relatives of my paternal grandmother, Mrs. Frank C. Delo (nee Ida Breshears). Her maternal in-laws were the Davis family. I think the Martins were either on the Davis or the Breshears side.
I have but one possible lead to offer you. Ida Breshears Delo had a younger brother, Ed. Lucile Chandler married Ed Breshears in the mid-1930's. My aunt Lucile Breshears is now in her 90's, but still very lucid. She lives with her son & his wife Jeff & Dolly Breshears, in Marietta, GA. You might call and ask her if she remembers "a Native American" named Louisa A. Delo as being in the family. The phone number is 1-770-428-5112. If you do call, please leave my e-address with the family & ask them to contact me.
As to why this reply is so late... I believe that Mr. Rob Delo placed my March 2002 message "on the board". Only this afternoon (1 yr later) have I endevoured to log onto Geneology.com for the first time!
I am traveling slowly around the World. I am currently near Melbourne, Australia. I do check my e-mail frequently.
I hope that you have contacted Mr. Rob Delo, of suburban Toronto, Canada. I have found him to be The Maven of the Delo family!
May I ask where do you live? I'm sure that anything that you wish to share with me about your Delo family tree would be of great interest!
My e-address is firstname.lastname@example.org
I wish you the best!
Donald D. DeLo
