Shelton Isaiah DeLoach & Arra Eneze Groover

I recently finished MY research on Shelton Isaiah DeLoach & Arra Eneze Groover; one set of my grandparents and have compiled the data into a booklet, “SHELTON ISAIAH DeLOACH & ARRA ENEZE GROOVER”. The booklet contains about 125 pages and list family connection data on over 1500 relatives.

I started on this to be a short and simple write-up on Shelton Isaiah DeLoach’s and Arra Eneze Groover’s ancestors and descendants, but the more I researched present and past data on them the more complex the simple task became. To assist in this endeavor I later used a genealogy program (Family Tree Maker). The genealogy program I used has uniqueness in the way it allows data to be presented, so I adjusted my data to comply. I could not in spite of the many attempts present the Groover and DeLoach ancestral data’s prior to Shelton and Arra marriage in parallel. Therefore, I elected to show Shelton Isaiah DeLoach & Arra Eneze Groover and their descendants in PART I. Ancestors & selected descendants of Arra Eneze Groover are in PART II. The ancestors & selected descendants of Shelton Isaiah DeLoach are in PART III.

In an effort to try to keep the document relatively small to accommodate printing costs I elected, in some cases, to not include all distant DeLoach and Groover ancestral information. Although, it was necessary in some cases to list data on individuals in more than one part in order to show complete relationships and for the genealogy data to flow through both Shelton Isaiah DeLoach and Arra Eneze Groover. All errors, omissions, and/or failures to include pertinent data on close relatives were not done intentional and hopefully we can correct them in later editions with your help and cooperation. I apologize for any and all errors and omissions in this write-up and will try to do a better job next time.

Some of this research came from available publications on ‘DeLoach's’, ‘Groover's’, ‘Wallace Leroy Swindell & Ruby DeLoach Swindell’, compiler's personal knowledge and many other sources such as lots of interviews, Internet postings, critiques, support, and assistance from family members, and the numerous visits to cemeteries, etc. A special thanks to everyone that assisted, especially Hilda Waters Swindell, Dorothy Baxter Flowers, Monceil Blocker Jackson, Sonny DeLoach, Iona DeLoach Barnes, Imogene DeLoach Harold, Pauline DeLoach Walker, Marjorie Bradley DeLoach, Rachel ‘Winky’ Groover Cammack, Wynell Cox DeLoach, Clara Blocker Driggers, Edith Shuman DeLoach, Talmadge Flowers, Eugene Jackson, Rebecca Etheridge Brown, and the many DeLoach first cousins that attended the ‘2002 First Cousin’s Reunion’ that provided their critiques and additional information. With the continued help of family members like these and others I hope to update and/or add to this publication annually until I get it ‘correct’ and have most of the Shelton Isaiah DeLoach’s and Arra Eneze Groover’s ancestors and descendants included. [This is the Third Up-Date, (Edition 2002).] You can help also by sending me additional and corrected information. I’ll be grateful!
