an assumed connection in Orangeburg SC
While doing research on Thomas Stevenson, born in 1818 in West Orangeburg SC, I discovered that his middle name is DeLoach. It might be a long shot in asking, but I do know that especially around the american revolution, it was common to give the mother's maiden name to the child in the form of a middle name. Also, since I had found that there were DeLoaches in SC and since it is an uncommon name, I thought there might be a chance he is related to this family since lore says that there is some French in our family from long ago.So, after my long winded theory, does any of this ring a bell with anyone?
