This is likely a Paul Delongpre (1855-1911) painting. He settled in Southern California (Los Angeles) from France and was famous for flowers. At one time he was a very popular artist. You can find a description of his residence in Hollywood at: http://www.hollywoodbid.org/hist/hist_profile13.html

My great-grandfather was a Lomprey, and although we haven't traced it yet, family legend has it that he anglicized his name from deLongpre.
