I, too, am doing research on Delorme, but the other name I'm looking for is Deslande. Seems pretty close. However, the ones I'm looking for don't appear to have any connection with any native Americans. At least, I don't think they do.

The band you describe, at least the area that you describe, is where the town of Odanak is on the bank of the St. Lawrence River somewhere near Sorel. That is the Canadian home of the Abenaki Indians, also found in Vermont and Maine and probably some other states.

Let me know if you've found out more about the Delorme/Delande connection. There may be some similarities.
