I'm posting the content of the email message here for continuity.

I'm Richard Demers and the trace I'm trying to perform through the Delorme name is so that I, my siblings, and my children can apply to the Abenaki for full tribal membership.

Your statement concerning Marie Lise was surprising to me since I didn't expect any Abenaki on that side of my family. The family name, Nolette, is on my father's side and was definitely Abenaki. Having said that, however, I don't know if there was a Marie Lise in my lineage. What I have so far is this:

My mother's (Solange Alice Delorme) parents were Noel & Albina (nee Raboin) Delorme. Albina's parents were Benjamin & Marie (nee St. Sauveur) Raboin, while Noel's parents were Octavienne & Rosalie (nee Delande) Delorme. Rosalie died in 1925, but I'm not sure where. I think it was in Canada, but so far I haven't been able to confirm that.

I can see where someone could have written "Delorme" for a "Delande" coming across the border, but since you and I both have come up with the same name, Delande, there's a pretty good bet that this is the name that needs to be pursued.

If I can help you in some way, I'll be glad to do it. Perhaps, together, we can piece together what these past generations looked like.
