Thanks for your reply. Altho' I think it is risky to draw conclusions based on marriage and birth dates,I believe you have a valid issue.
As I said before, my grandmother was descended from Col. William Marsh. As well, my great grandmother was a Demaray.
So I am approaching this from two directions. I think it is safe to say that Jane was not part of the Col. William Marsh
family. (I use the title only for clarity!). I think it is
also safe to say that Jane had a close connection to Isreal
Marsh. (Why else we she be able to call on him to perform
several wedding cereminies?) There seems to be no doubt about Isreal's history. i.e. son of Rev. William and Ann Huntington and grandson of Jacob (cousin of the above Col
William. Jacob, killed during the Revolution left a large
family. His eldest son William came to Canada.
A quick look at some available data bases, from home found an entry for Jane Marsh wife of David Demaray who was born in Schagticoke, Renssalaer Co., N.Y. If this is accurate, it
could be that she was a young daughter of the deceased Jacob. To me, it would seem logical that her eldest, brother
William, being established in Canada might have become her guardian.
Anyway, I shall take another look at the Bruce Stinson book.
Previously, I copied what pertained to my Grandmother only.
Another thing, might be to look for a baptism in New York.
These things will take some time. If you have other thoughts, I will try.
