I have determined that Isaac Demeritt married a Tamson H Montgomery. Her parents were John and Abigail (Pitman) Montgomery. An artist named Joseph H Davis painted John and Abigail. Later a college of mine shared with me that he painted another picture of a yound woman TAMSON H MONTGOMERY! Both pictures are at the National Gallery of Art. NICE!! I have yet to determine who Isaac's parents are but will continue to look.

I was looking for clues for Isaac's parents when I found a reference in the following book: The Early Marriages of Strafford Co., NH Vol. 1 & II; R.S. Canney; Heritage Bks, 1995
"DEMERITT, Capt. Isaac, m. June 21, 1840, by S.P. Montgomery, Esq., Tamson H. Montgomery."

After some further research into Isaac's son Samuel P.M. I found several references on making his full name Samuel Pitman Montgomery Demeritt. Samuel had a son who he named Roscoe Pitman. I have one more interesting find that note-worthy. A libarian from Barrington sent me an e-mail of a source that she had available: Graveyard of Barrington, New Hampshire, Compiled by members of The Barrington , N.H. Historical Society, c1976.

Any help in regards to Isaac would be greatly appriciated.
