Origin of Demore name?

I have discovered an ancestress, my paternal gggrandmother, named Phoebe Jane Stones, nee Demore. She was married to Joseph Stones, and had at least two children, Orval Stone and Hershel Stone. (Name changed from Stones to Stone) She would have been born in the early 1800's around 1810. They lived in either Reach or Scugog Township, Ontario County. I believe they are buried in Greenbank Cemetery.
Does anyone have any information on this person. I believe she may be buried under the name Jane Stones. I have not been able to trace the origin of the name Demore. Has anyone any light to shed?
