I am searching for Alexander Demorest. Born in 1886(7) in Victoria Road, Ontario, Canada to John Gilbert Demorest and his wife Sarah Keith he was the second of four brothers: Alvinza, James and Joseph. Upon the death of Sarah the family moved to Waukegan, Illinois in 1892. John married Elizabeth Blowney in 1895 and they had one son, Benjamin.
Alexander Demorest married Minnie Nauta in 1909. They had two daughters, Marceline and Verna and the family made their home in Waukegan. They divorced in 1912. I have the marriage license and divorce papers. I also have the 1910 census record for Aleck, as he liked to be called, and family but he does not appear in any other federal census records. I have some city directory information from Waukegan.
Aleck followed his fatherís family to Necedah, Wisconsin in 1915. In his draft card registration in 1917 he listed himself as single and working on a farm in Rushford, Wisconsin for Eddie Mohan presumably near Necedah. He is mentioned in a newspaper article in 1918 concerning the death of his brother, James, in the war. That is the last I know of him. There is no social security number for him nor do I find any death or cemetery records.
If anyone has knowledge of his life his family would appreciate the information so we could finally put the mystery to rest.
