I'm planning on taking a day over the weekend and searching for John Demory's house in Louden County, VA. Was anyone able to actually find the house? John Demory was born around 1741 and died in 1806. He leased land just outside of Neersville, VA from the Fiarfax family. His son Peter ended up purchasing the land. John's house is still standing somewhere on this land. An archealogy class from UVA has visited it and the professor has found some neat stuff there, but I contacted the professor and he seems reluctant to give me the exact location of the house. I know that a present day winery lies on a piece of the property leased by John, but he had a good bit of land that covered a few farms. I could always just spend the day wandering around the mountains, and would probably find it, but if anyone has any additional info it would be helpful. Also, does anyone know where John is buried? I found Peter's grave along with a bunch of other Demory's in the Ebenezer Cemetary in Neersville, but not John's.
