I would guess that you have gone through the forum answers. In case you have not, the Demory family started as DeMaretz, after the village "of Maretz" in France. They were originally French Huguenots. According to my theory, based on certain information acquired, they came to near what is now Hackensack, New Jersey, and then moved onto Virginia, and then some went west, including Ohio.
