Grand Parents and Great Grand Parents
Posted by: Steven RL Denault (ID *****9149) Date: August 24, 2008 at 06:47:25

Looking for any information on my grand parents from both sides: Denault and Pitt.

My grandfather was Fred Denault married to Yvonne Asselin. Their son (my father) is Robert (Bob) Douglas Melvin Denault. My father was raised in Fort Coulonge, Quebec.
He was orphaned at an early age and then taken in by an aunt and uncle who farmed near Fort Coulonge and later moved into town.

My mother is a Pitt. Her father, Wilford Pitt was also from the Fort Coulonge area.

From what I father remembers the family may have originated out of the Noire River (Black River) area. As with many families the claim is that the family in the Black River settlement had many sons. We may be of Belgian descent and not French as supposed.

On the Pitt side I don't have any information about my grand fathers side of the family in that area.

Any historical information on the Denault's or the Pitt's would be most appreciated.

kind regards
Steven
