Hello Janice, Evelyn and Stan-

I am a late returnee to this geneology site. My mother (Anita D'Enbeau) is the daughter of Francis Jesse D'EnBeau aka Denbo. Evelyn is correct in that my grandfather apparently changed his name in the 1930's. He was married around 1915 to Bernice Steel and the couple had two sons (Joseph and Francis) both with the Denbo surname. My mother was born to Francis and Eleanor Newton in 1932 and carries the new surname. My Aunt (Jessica Jane) was born to Francis Jesse and Beatrice Semell, (yet another mother) in abt 1944 and carries the French surname.

According to my Aunt, she was aware that my grandfather was probably the illegitimate son of one of the daughters of Francis Marion and Margaret Jane Bell.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any information you can share, or if I can help you with filling in some of the gaps. Elaine Premo
