Denby Family in Brazil

My grandmother is Joan Denby Allen and she has been trying to find information on the source of the name Denby as well I don't think that she is aware of any Jewish ancestry but that could be wrong I suppose. She has a VERY old document that I believe is a land grant for land in Denbighshire (I think) and I think that she suspects this may be a tie to the name but she has a lot of interest in learning more about Carlota for that reason. It seemed that Barten and Carlota had one foot in Britain and one in South America and we've not had any luck in getting beyond Carlota and don't know where she came from but I'm guessing Britain.

She is also very interested in learning more about her great aunt Helen deGuise Nelson (Allen). Any sharing would be appreciated and I can share what we've found as well.
