John DENDY Laurens Co 1816 land deed
Posted by: Mitchell Date: July 17, 2000 at 05:30:28

Book K, p.138 of abstracts of Laurens Co land transactions has John Dendy selling Samuel Jowell 50 acres for $150, recorded 5 Aug 1816. Has anyone run across family name of Jowell or Joel or Joell in their Dendy research?

I've heard that many early land transactions were a method of fathers gift their new sons in law, by giving them a good price. My Jowell family (various spellings)were neighbors of Dendy's. I have nothing besides this land transaction on Samuel & have only been able to make guesses as to how it fits with rest of family.
