Sorry to disappoint you, but Dorking cames from Dark or Darking,the archaic name for the River Mole.

However. getting back to Dendys, do you have any details of anyone in the 16/1700's who married into the Longhurst family around Ewhurst, Capel? I have seen the name crop up in Longhurst wills.
