Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I decided to post this up on the forum so that anyone else might also connect with our research, instead of emailing you privately. I am about to email my uncle to try to get more information and I will keep you posted. Besides the Dundee and slave information, here is what I know: My Papa Dendy's name was James Paul Dendy, Jr. and so I kind of just assume that my great papa's name was James Paul Dendy. I know that my papa spent some of his earlier years in Georgia and that he was an only child...I'm not sure about this but his mothers maiden name may have been Mays. My own father was born in Michigan, but remembers spending time at my great papa's farm in Tennessee during the war, when my papa was away. My papa moved his family to Seattle, WA when my dad was in grade school. They had a total of six children. I was born and raised and still live in California, and so does my dad, Henry Lee Dendy. Well, hopefully I can get more information about my great papa Dendy and his mother, father, and sisters, and brothers soon. I really feel that we have made a valuable connection and if this "pans" out, I would like to do some traveling to South Carolina! Keep in touch. Karen Ivonne Dendy Carhart
