Hello,,,
My Denis/Denny family name is also really messed up as they moved Quebec to Ontario to USA. We may be related. My g.g.g.father was Joseph Denis dit Picard was born in Mission du Sud de Lac Francois,b. 1798. He and his family moved around a bit..He married Marie Adelaide Robidoux in 1823 in St. Regis, Quebec. They had two children in Quebec before moving to Lanark co., Ontario..to the town of Smiths Falls. In the process of moving to an english speaking area, they lost their name and it became..Denny/Dena/Denna/Dennie...Some of these children came accross the border and settled in Massena, New york. My grandmother, Elizabeth Denna/Denny was one of them..She married another transplanted french canadian with a mangled name......Mon gran pere...Obidiah Perry aka Ovila Poirier. Good luck in your search..I have a bit more on this family if you are interested...
