Shirley: I am a Denmon descendant. My dad always stressed that we were DenmOn not DenmAn. The story is told that two brothers migrated to America, New York. When talk of war began they moved south, because they did not have a stake in the war. Have you encountered a G. B. Denmon, b. 1835, GA. Married/GA/ (1)Mary Ann HAwkins, had one son, Ezekiel Uriah Denmon, b. 1855. Married/LA/ (2) Mary Elizabeth Hawkins, married (3) Mary Elizabeth Beaty/LA. I found G. B. in the 1870 Census for Bossier PArish, LA. This is the first time I have found an official record on him, other than his Civil War Service. G. B. AKA Greenbury/Green Berry/Graen Berry. Any information will be most appreciated. I realize that your ancestors are from the Northern States, but I am hoping you may have bumped into this Denmon family. Thanks. Nell Lee
