My grandfather, David M. Danahy, was one of ten siblings, the children of John Dennehy (mother Fitzgerald) and Ellen Riordan (mother Roche) who emigrated to NY from Co. Cork around the turn of the last century.About half of them spelled their name Dennehy and most settled in the Glens Falls area.My grandfather and at least three others ended up in New York City.
David and his sister Mary arrived in NYC in 1899 aboard the HMS Majestic.I found the passenger list cards on microfiche. They're hard to read.Couldn't make out place of birth other than Ireland, but last permanent address was listed as Newmarket, which is in Cork.
I have been to their place of birth, a small dairy farm in NW Cork owned by Tadgh Fleming, a descendant of Timothy Dennehy, the lone sibling who remained in Ireland. It is in a place called Reallen, Kishkeam.Kishkeam is a small town which may not have existed over 100 years ago when they left. The nearest "large" city is Millstreet.
Without more info on above mentioned John Dennehy and Ellen Riordan can't say for sure, but there's a good chance your Tim was a cousin of my grandfather.
