he was my great-aunt's godfather, and I think, my great-grandmother's cousin.... obituary, July 1, 1960, Providence Journal, he died June 30, 1960. Henry F. Denneny Henry Francis Denneny of 46 Atlantic Blvd., North Providence, a retired Providence policeman, died yesterday in Hillcrest Nursing Home, East Providence, after a long illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Katherine (Bowen) Denneny. Born in County Cavan, Ireland, May 24, 1881, son the late Patrick and Julia (Gallagher) Denneny, he had been a resident of the Mount Pleasant section of Providence for most of his life. He lived in North Providence for the last 10 years. He retired in 1942 after 32 years on the force. Besides his wife, survivors are three daughters, Mrs. John J. Barron, with whom he lived, Mrs. Harold A. Cassidy, of Cranston, and Mrs. Norbert E. Touchette of Hampton, Va.; a son, Henry J. Denneny of Cranston; a sister, Mrs. Julia E. O'Brien of Providence, and eight grandchildren. The funeral will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. from Raymond F. Homer Funeral Home, 45 Parade St. with a solemn requiem Mass in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Academy Avenue, at 10:15 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket.
