Hi,
I don't know if you still read this forum, but my last name is Denotkin. Actually, it is Denotkine, but the e at the end was added when my name was translated to French, not English.
As Far as I know of my family, they lived in Russia before the revolution, (my great-grandfather was born around 1887), and during the revolution, half the family moved to France, and the rest stayed in the Soviet Union.
I was in the second part of this family, and moved to Canada only in 1995.
The genealogy of my family (as far as I know) is:
Abraham Denotkin (1887? - 1958), Zurich university, philosophy.
Leo Denotkin (1931 - january 1985), Moscow.
Vladimir Denotkin (1965 - ), Moscow, presently - Canada
Ilia Denotkin (1990 - ), Moscow, presently - Canada
If you know of anyone who still carries the name "deNotkin, Denotkin, de-notkin", or any other variations, please message me. I am very curious of my ancestry.
Thank you.
