Hello Ilia
Sorry about mispelling your name.I've got it right now. My great grandfather told his family that the de was added after he saved a member of the royal family from drowning but we have no way of proving that.
The surname de Notkin is not very common . Since my mothers Aunty died last year the name has died out in England and in New Zealand is totally unknown other than by us of course. My Uncles changing his name to Dennison also ended it in our line as he was only son in my grandparents family with 5 sisters. Also Uncle Michael had no children.
Sebastion had 2 sons and one daughter. Archie the youngest was married but they had no children.
This is a very intelligent line, not counting me but my oldest brother has a high IQ and is very good at Mathmatics as in my oldest daughter. Mum also has a high IQ.Grandad was also very intelligent. Sebastion married a British girl from a farming background. Her father was an ag lab.It must have come from Sebastion as his wife had little schooling.
Sebastion took his own life when he was 73 years old.he was living on his own.He was living in Salford,Manchester.
We have a list of names but cannot prove that they are Sebastions brothers and sister. He said his father owned a Brandy Distillery in Vilna.
This is so amazing to finnally find another "de Notkin[e]".
There was a Valdimar de Notkin who lived in Russia and wrote Mathmatic text books.
