I believe my great grandmother, Clara Sophia Cain Trefry was the daughter of ?D'Entremont, the first wife of Thomas Cain of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. The "Yarmouth Nova Scotia Genealogies" identifies my ggrandmother as the daughter of Ella Pitman in one place and ?D'Entremont in another. The 1881 Nova Scotia Census shows Ella Pitman (age 21) living at home with her family and my ggrandmother at age 11 living with her father and brother so I doubt Ella was her mother. Thomas Cain was born in 1840 and his first two children were Howard b. 1868 and Clara Sophia b. 1870. Any information would be appreciated.
