Glendle,
I have done a lot more research on the Depoy family and agree with you. The Widow Anna Yeakley was Isaac Depoy's second wife. Isaac was born abt. 1730 in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. His first wife was Anna Marie Hauer. She died 1789 in Rockingham Co., Virginia.

Isaac Depoy died just before 17 December 1811, when his will was admitted to probate. (Rockingham County, Virginia, Executor’s Bonds, 1778-1815.) Unfortunately, neither the will nor other estate papers survived. But there is a 1819 deed among his children transferring their interests in his estate. (Burnt Records Deed Book 4, page 450.) The fact that the estate remained open until 1819, probably indicates that Isaac had a widow when he died.

Isaac was on the 1810 census in Rockingham Co. without someone of Anna's age in the household, but maybe she was away from home. I think Isaac's son Martin and family were living with Isaac at that point.

1810 > VIRGINIA > ROCKINGHAM Series: M252 Roll: 67

I am not descended from Isaac Depoy. I am actually descended from his younger half-brother, John Conrad Deboy, b. 1750. When I first started researching the family, I gave a great deal of deference to Isaac's descendants when it came to Isaac's family. As it turns out, that deference was misplaced. Although they all list an Isaac Depoy Jr. born abt. 1766-1774, who married Anna Yeakley in 1794, I now suspect that Isaac Jr. was manufactured to explain the marriage. I have not found any evidence anywhere that Isaac (Sr) had a son named Isaac, and it certainly looks as if Isaac(Sr) married the widow Anna Yeakley.

I am a bit puzzled by the fact that many Yeakley researchers say that the Widow Anna Yeakley died about 1828 in Pennsylvania and that she is buried with George Yeakley in Pennsylvania. Any thoughts?

Janice
