This name has 18 different spellings alone in VA. 1728 the original ancestor came over via Luxenburg to England, then to America [PA]. Depending on whether the scribe spelled their name [dubois] on the ship's manifest the French way, or another way, [DuPuy, DEPPY, or any other spealling] the elder son, Isaac, of Conrat who came over spelled his name DEPOY. Pennsylvania records of Isaac's widow show an "X" on his estate papers still in the courthouse records. Anyone proving to be a descendant of Isaac DEPOY, that is the correct spelling. If we can link you back with our records, it matters not how it's spelled today. Be happy to help anyone.
