Patrick DERBY, Whitehaven, Cumberland
Posted by: Richard Welch (ID *****5908) Date: December 22, 2002 at 14:00:20

Patrick DERBY lived at Beckside, near Whitehaven in 1764; at New Town in the Ginns District, Whitehaven, 1766; and was "of Ginns" in 1769. His wife is unknown. He had four children, all baptized at St. Bees, Cumberland: John, bapt. 1764; Ann, 1766-1822, married Luke Hardy at St. Bees in 1786 in a joint ceremony with her brother, Philip, who married Jane Purdy; and Sarah, bapt. 1769. Patrick was probably a miner at Whitehaven, but I have no proof of that other than the fact that he lived in the mining district.

Can anyone help me locate his place of origin, parents, wife's name, etc.?
