I descend from Charles Darby and Nancy Biddy (married 22 May 1819 Rutherford County, NC), through their daughter Icey Caroline Darby (b. abt. 1820 GA). Some researchers believe that Charles Darby's father was either (1) Charles, Sr. from Ireland, or (2) Thomas Derby (Darby) from England. I have found no proof either way. Has anyone been able to prove Charles Darby's ancestry?
