I have de Ridders in my family also. I will dig into some of my information. The first deRidder I can find fled France in the 1600's. They were French Huguenots. Some made their way to the Netherlands while others went to Belguim. The Deridders are all over the US, with a heavy population in Michigan. Write if I can be of any more help. Sharon
