Hi Corina and Denise, I just received an email today from Gerry Hebert, and he told me that the reason why we were stuck on this particular line was because Grandpa Joseph's surname was Deguire. His parents names were Michel and Emilie (Cartier) Deguire. Emilie's parents were Louis and Agathe (Richot) Cartier. According to a Family History Library, St Michel D'Yamaska Church has the following:
Marriage of Michel Deguire and Emilie Cartier occured 1-16-1844. Their children were baptised, and they are:
Joseph Philias Deguire, 5-30-1851
Louis Deguire, 11-10-1844
Marie Emilie, 5-2-1849
Desire (Jerry), 10-5-1853
Marie Mathilda, 5-13-1856
The marriage date for Joseph Deguire DeRosier and Anna Dupre was 8-17-1872 in Centerville, MN. Their witnesses were Michel Deguire and Michel DeRosier. I will check on the location of of St Michel D'Yamaska Church, and let you know where its' location is. Thank you. Sincerely, Claudette Moran
