I am hoping that you can help me with some information.
My great grandmother was a Derosier. Her name was Celestine. She married Albert Peltier. My Grandmother, Elllen Lucy Peltier (b. 1888) was one of their daughters. They lived in Minnesota. Most of my family, since the 1850's, have lived in the White Bear Lake area. This is right next to Centerville (just a few miles away). My father remembers his Grandmother, Celestine, telling him stories when he was around 10 years old (1935) about her father. One of the stories she told him was about Anticosti Island in the St. Lawrence Seaway just north of New Brunswick. Supposedly, the family once had some sort of right to the island and that was lost sometime during the reign of Queen Victoria. Can you help me with any associated lineage? It would be deeply appreciated. This summer I am taking my parents to Anticosti Island and would love to know more or even to meet some relatives along the way.
