I have some information on a Tolbert DeRossett, s/o James and Milly Rose DeRossett. This Tolbert (b 1826 Floyd Co) m Medusa Dean. He supposedly fell in the Big Sandy River during the Civil War while ferrying supplies to the Confederates and died of pneumonia circa 1862. His wife remarried and his children were bound out to others. Contact me and I will give you Anna Bertram's email. She sent me this file and may have something more.

This Tolbert may be a father or grandfather of the Tolbert you seek. His known children: James (b 1851), Emily (b 1854), Margaret (b 1856) and Frank William (b 1859)
