Is it possible that your Phillip/Phillipe Dossett/DeRossett is the same one who was captain of the Concorde captured by Blackbeard off the Outer Banks of NC & who's life was spared w/only a couple of others? The Concorde was renamed Queen Anne's Revenge & was recently hauled off the bottom of the Atlantic. Have you discovered anything about Phillip/Phillipe's descendents? I am particularly interested if William Simpson Dossett (b. 07 Oct 1842, d. 13 Sep 1907, Durham, NC)who served in the 6th NC Regiment (Infantry, Company C) during the Civil War is named. He married Adline Mangum (b. 25 Feb 1868, d. 15 Nov 1945). One of their daughters was Annie Elizabeth Dossett (b. 12 May 1891 & d. 22 Nov 1968) - my paternal grandmother. Any leads or possibilities to WSD's lineage would be greatly appreciated.
