Hiram was one of the younger sons of Preston DuRossett and Lucinda Benson, maybe the youngest. In 1869, Menifee County was formed from a portion of Bath County, just as Bath was once formed from Montgomery County. What this means is that the families did not move, the county lines did.

I have copied the same DeRosset/Darosset/Durossett etc information apparently sent you as well as some census information for 1870-1880 Menifee Co. I previously had Bath County records.
