Tolbert Derossett was my gg grandfather. His daughter Emily was my g grandmother. She married Louis Merritt around 1871. They moved to St. Francis County, AR and had 7 children born there, including my grandmother Margaret, b 1892. Emily's brothers, James and Frank William DeRossitt (note the family changed the spelling of the name, substituting i for e) moved to St. Francis County also. James and Frank Derossitt became successful farmers and businessmen in the latter 19th century. Frank (F.W.) DeRossit served in the Arkansas Senate. There is a lot of information on the DeRossits on the St. Francis County, AR history websites. The DeRossits became well respected in this area, marrying into some prominent families including the Aldersons and Rollwages. I would like to find out about my g grandmother Emily. I do not have much info on her because she died in 1896 when my grandmother was only 4 years old. Ann Williams
