Emile Derouin one of 8 or 10 children placed in an orphanage in Nova Soctia probably due to their partens alcholism. The children ESCSAPED the orphange and most changed their last name from Derouin to Davis before coming to the United States. Most were general laborers, big timber workers and Emile was a teamster but also worked for Fuller Brush and farmed (the land is still in the family).
Emile Derouin married Francis Chadbourne and they settled in western Mass. They had 6 children. Emile, Ray, Henry, Beverly, Ann and Judy most of whom still live in the same area. The children were raised on the farm.
