My Grandfather was an Emil. My father, also and Emil, was born in Chicago. They must have moved to Escanaba, MI sometime in the early to mid-twenties. My grandfather was a contractor who was killed in an accident in the late thirties/early fourties. He was married to Amelia Chouinard and they had five surviving (at least one early death) children: Victor (Escanaba), Andrew (Grand Rapids), Rita (Chicago), Emil (Escanaba), and Lorraine (Escanaba). I remember hearing references to "Wilfred" and "Henry" from my grandmother. As a child I visited some of that group of relatives.
I have never seen a DeRouin family tree, but did hear of talk of Lorraine having one or knowing of one. I will see what information I can obtain.
