Most Louisiana Derouins (Drouins) emigrated there very early, 1700 to 1750. They wre voyageers who came down the river and settled. Nearly all descended from Robert Drouin and one of his two sone Nicholas or Etienne.
My family came from Hull and I know of a number of other Derouins who were there in the late 1800s. Their parent came from St. Cuthbert and Three Rivers area.
