Rose: I am a descendant of John Simon Derrick through his son George Derrick and wife Hannah Byrd... Solomon Fry was also one of the early settlers of the Gunter's Landing/TNRiver area...Fry's Gap...My mother's father, James David Fulks (Fox, Fuchs) married Martha Jane Kirkland, daughter of Nancy Susan Derrick-wife of James Hezekiah Kirkland.. I would love to see information which you have on file.. I suspect my Fulks (Fox,Fuchs) line came to Honeycomb Valley of Marshall Co, AL from the Henry Cross Roads area of Sevier Co, TN...Hugh Henry married a daughter of John Gunter and his Cherokee wife.. Henryville is a small community between Gunter's Landing and Honeycomb Valley in what is now Marshall Co, AL.
