Caleb,
I have enjoyed your postings re Rabun Co. Ga. My husband and I both grew up there.
The Bettie Henegar Derrick in this last posting was my darling grandmother- such a lovely lady and such a hard worker! I have often wished if she could come back for just one day so I could show her my kitchen- she would be amazed as hers was so basic and took loads of time to get anything done- yet she did.
I am hoping some day to find a photo or old post card with a photo of their three story boarding house, Blackrock Inn, which she ran.
It burned to the ground while grandmother was sick so James Webster lost his home and his wife in the same short period of time. She actually died at our house next door as their home was no more.
