John C. Derrick (Germany, The Netherlands, England)

Still hoping someone will know if this story is correct. John C. Derrick, stowaway at age 16, came to America. He doesn't show up in any ship's manifest. He was either born in Germany or in the Netherlands. I have seen something that indicates that his father was Jacob and his mum was Sara. He leaves the family for America. He ends up in Wisconsin and marries the first of his 3 wives, Adelia Permelia Kellogg. He later lives in Illinois and then in Iowa. He marries again and has more children and migrates west and winds up in Idaho. President Wilson gives him more than 100 acres (in downtown Boise) as a Land Grant in the Territory. He dies in Council, Idaho, at his daughter's home in 1913. Any information you can provide is greatly appreciate. connie.taylor@comcast.net
