Cathy, My husband's family also originated from Campobasso area. His g-grandfather Constanza(Thomas)DeSantis came to US around 1880. While working for the railroad he visited oswego, NY. He said that it reminded him of his small town in Italy(Little did he know about our record lake effect snowfalls!). He saved some money, returned to Italy, and brought his wife, Carmella Mastrapaulo and two kids back to Oswego in 1883. They were friends with the Palladino family in Campobasso. Their name was changed to Pauldine. My husband's grandfather, Michael Pauldine came here with his brother John. Later they sent for their parents. Michael had an arranged marriage with Lucia Ciarlariello. She arrived in Oswego from Campobasso at age 17 in 1921. When did your DeSantis people come to US? Where did they settle? My in-laws traveled back to Campobasso in the 1970's. they visited with some distant relatives. Could our family's be linked? Jeanne Desantis
